Boxing day is going to be very special this year.

Every few years, the day after Christmas Day is a Sunday, and the official Boxing Day holiday is on Monday. The team has always observed this rule, therefore in 2021, the Grenoside Sword Dancers Boxing Day event will take place as usual at 11am sharp outside The Old Harrow Inn on Main Street, Grenoside, on Monday 27th December.

The Handsworth Traditional Sword Dancers also follow this rule. But not this year.

In a first for both teams, the Handsworth Traditional Sword Dancers WILL perform on Sunday 26th December, first in Woodhouse, then outside St Mary's Church in Handsworth at 12pm. The Grenoside Sword Dancers will be their special guests.

Then on Monday, the Handsworth Traditional Sword Dancers will be our special guests.
